Several of my students
are taking driver's ed at the moment, and the subject of the dreaded
driving test with the state trooper came up; I mentioned that when I was
a kid, it was rumored that the trooper was known to occasionally change
your radio to a country station during the test, and of course there
was nothing you could do about it...
KID: I hate country!
ME: Amen, brother.
KID: But I guess country-rock is OK; it's really just rock, with the people dressed up like cowboys.
