I believe it happened on a Saturday and my dad called me. My parents usually called me on Sunday, so it seemed a little odd. Since I don't watch TV when I'm at home, I was not aware of the space shuttle incident. He told me it broke apart all across North Texas. The news the next few days was devoted completely to it. Amazing it's already been five years.
